DOROT Programs

Rabbi Leah Shakdiel will join the DOROT community and speak about her life as a social justice, peace, human rights, and feminist activist. Rabbi Leah has also been involved in the construction of a historiography project of her town in Israel, using narratives as a form of empowerment. She’ll share this experience, and more!

DOROT's Onsite@Home programs, offered virtually over Zoom, inspire, captivate and build community among intellectually engaged older adults through ongoing workshops, movement classes and special events on a range of topics.

Rabbi Leah Shakdiel

Jerusalem-born rabbi Leah Shakdiel is a proud iconoclast. More than 30 years ago, the Orthodox feminist appealed, successfully, to the Supreme Court of Israel for the right to sit on the Yerucham Religious Council, where she served from 1988 to 1993. She is active in religious peace organizations, was ordained last year and now serves as the rabbi at the Center for Women’s Justice.
