Going to the Dogs with PhxArt Museum
Hosted By: DOROT
Dogs have been MUSES or inspiration for ARTISTS for thousands of years, from
ancient cave dwellings to pop-art installations. Greeks and Romans favored dogs as pets and valued them for their faithfulness and courage, while artists from Picasso to Warhol were fascinated by their beloved pets. Dogs intrigue us, engage us emotionally and are living symbols of protection, loyalty, companionship and unconditional love. This event is going to take a look at how artists have shown their admiration and respect for canines in paintings, drawings, sculptures and photography from the 1st Century B.C. to the present.
