Forgotten Women in History
Hosted By: DOROT
Barbara Kahn has been writing historical plays for more than twenty-five years, receiving recognition and awards in the U.S. and in Europe. Her plays are about people whose lives have been distorted or erased in popular culture—immigrants, women, religious and racial minorities and LGBT. Today she shares an overview of eleven women, many famous during their lifetime but since forgotten. Anne Bonney and Mary Read, George Sand, Rachel Felix, Charlotte Cushman, Emma Stebbins, Sallie Mercer, Elizabeth Keckley, Florence Mills, Alla Nazimova and Eve Adams all earned their place in history.
