Dreams and Shadow: The Life and Art of Joseph Cornell
Hosted By: DOROT
Joseph Cornell spent his early years in Nyack, NY, living an upper-middle class lifestyle. His father’s untimely death in 1917 forced Joseph to help his mother and siblings. He spent many years working as a fabric salesman in New York City to support them. Working out of their humble home in Queens while taking care of his mother and disabled brother, Cornell became one of the most original American artists of the twentieth century. Join artist and educator Cliff Tisdell for a closer look into the life and artwork of Cornell.
