Grief and Grievance: Art and Mourning in America
Hosted By: DOROT
Art Educator Riva Blumenfeld will take us through “Grief & Grievance: Art and Mourning in America,” a New Musuem exhibit of 37 artists whose multigenerational work addressed the mourning, commemoration, and loss associated with racist violence across the United States. The works encompass video, painting, sculpture, installation, photography, sound, and performance—mainly made in the last decade, some expressly for this exhibition, and augmented by several key historical works. We’ll explore these powerful pieces, and have an opportunity to learn and reflect together.
